American Heart Association Instructors Ready To Teach CPR Anytime You Need it!

District CPR is dedicated to teaching high quality American Heart Association (AHA) CPR to everyone located in DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV). CPR can make the difference between life and death for you or a loved one. Cardiac arrests (heart attacks) are the leading cause of death and each year more than 350,000 heart attacks occur outside of the hospital. Only 46% of people receive CPR after a heart attack therefore the need to learn and perform CPR is becoming more critical. According to AHA, 90% of people who experience cardiac arrest die; however, immediate CPR can double or triple the chance of survival.

Our instructors are highly trained professionals working in the Emergency Medical Field who have been teaching for a combined 18 years. They are trained in instructing First-Aid, Heartsaver, Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and more.

BLS instructor

Amy Palacios

Since a young age, Amy’s inspiration for helping the community and helping others came from her family. Born and raised in D.C., Amy graduated from Calvin Coolidge Senior High School June of 2020. She continued her education at The University of the District of Columbia, studying Biology. Through Middle School up until sophomore year, she volunteered at Mary’s Center’s Teen program, doing community service hours, and worked as a Patient Representative at ARSO Neuro Rehab and Orthopedic Center LLC, working closely with providers and patients from different backgrounds and beliefs. In September of 2021, she became a licensed Heartsaver and BLS (Basic Life Support) Instructor, certified by The American Heart Association and began to volunteer at MedStar Health SiTEL where she instructs techs, nurses, and doctors. As she continues to train closely with Mayra, she aims to continue her education and become a certified ACLS Instructor with District CPR LLC.

BLS instructor

Rebecca Gomez

Although Rebecca is still in her early years of life, she has grown a clear and strong passion for helping others. Rebecca is currently a student who is on the road to obtaining an American Heart Association Instructor license for Heartsaver and Basic Life Support (BLS) very soon. She's been in training for the past several months, and has been gaining full capability of leading a class. Rebecca has worked closely and diligently with Mayra and Sam to ensure she is learning all she can and provide the best education for our students. She graduated from TC William and she is in pursuit of the nursing program at Northern Virginia Community College where she was accepted. She will attain a medical assistant license to gain more experience in the medical field which will compliment her as a CPR Instructor. As well as volunteer work she can do to help others in her community and expand her knowledge. She is truly eager to be a part of the future of District CPR LLC.
